As any classic car enthusiast will appreciate, the Aston Martin DB5 is just as impressive under the hood as on the outside. The car has a 4.0L aluminium engine producing 282 bhp (210 kW), ZF five-speed transmission, and three SU carburettors. First released in 1963 and made famous in the 1964 James Bond film Goldfinger, the British luxury tourer also features reclining seats, electric windows, twin fuel tanks! Impressive for its day! Other classic features include chrome wire 15” wheels, wool pile carpets, full leather trim in the cabin, a magnesium-alloy body, and even an individual fire extinguisher.

THE WILLSHIP EXPERIENCE
The owner of this particular DB5, a UK citizen and obvious classic car connoisseur, flew to Australia to inspect this car before deciding to purchase it early this year and work with us to ship it home. And to no one’s surprise, Nick, our Vehicle Shipping Expert, was more than happy to take on the task!
After in-depth discussions with the owner, we made arrangements to collect and ship this beautiful car back to the owner’s home in Southampton, Hampshire UK. With contracts in place with various shipping lines and competitive pricing, we were able to ship the DB5 at an incredible price through our friends John and Shaun at Quest Freight. The Willship team carefully secured the DB5 with chocks in a shipping container and made sure that the container would not be opened again until the ship docked at port in the UK. The ship departed on March 12th, with an estimated arrival date of April the 19th (just a little over 5 weeks of transit time), and our client was happy to track the vehicle at any point with his customised tracking number.
What could have been a logistical nightmare for the owner of this spectacular vehicle, was turned into a simple process by our expert team. With more than 25 years of experience in the international shipping industry, we make international shipping as easy and efficient as possible.
